I was born in 1981 in Goirle in the Netherlands. During my early teens I got piano lessons in both classical and pop music. When I got a little bit older, my fascination for the PC was growing and soon I was making electronic music using FastTracker 2 and other software in MS-Dos.

As a student chemistry and industrial design, I realised I was more and more interested in playing music and composing. I learned to work with a lot of different software such as Reason, and also learned to play a bit of guitar, bass and drums.

I decided to apply for the Art Academy in Hilversum, direction composition and technology. The last four years I have done a lot of different projects in this field, with the focus on sound desing in multidisciplinary fields. Most significant project were the reproduction of Anthèmes II together with two co-students and Marleen Wester, violin player at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. Based on the extensive score written by Pierre Boulez and his technical crew, we wrote the software for score following, spatialization and sound effects as well as the whole backbone software using MAX/MSP.

For my graduation project I designed several sound installations which were exposed during the ‘Duizel’ festival in Rotterdam on the first and second of august. The designs were made to make sound without any power supply, so I made use of solar cells and wind energy to make the sounds.

Other performances were with Nagg, a new musical group in which I am responsible for the programming of software which reacts to the different instruments and makes visual interpretations based on pitch, level, sustain and other information.
